The Board of Directors would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms. Marilyn McGuire for her thoughtful gift. Marilyn was active in the Minneapolis Sangha for many years. Marilyn had a terminal illness and decided to make a planned gift to Shambhala. Her gift to the Shambhala People of Color Scholarship Fund was to enable people of color to become leaders and teachers in their communities.
SPOCSF Endowment Fund:
With matching grants from Shambhala International and The Shambhala Trust, an endowment fund was started in 2009. It is currently managed by The Sakyong Foundation. We are envisioning a time in the future where the fund has grown in size, so that the yearly investment income expands the scholarships we can offer our community.
